Education

Life-Long Music Education is a core value for Amadeus Concerts. The Amadeus Orchestra inspires young musicians through its side-by-side concerts in schools. Our conductor, A. Scott Wood, mentors musicians on the verge of international careers through the Emerging Artist Program. And our talks help a community of music lovers expand their understanding of classical music.

“… Amadeus Concerts introduces young people to the auditory ecstasy of a live classical music concert.” Sun Gazette

“It was so wonderful to see my students beaming with excitement and pride while playing with professional musicians.” Fairfax County School teacher

Amadeus Concerts Music Education Programs

Side-by-Side Concerts
Students and pros rehearse together and perform for other students at the school. This celebrated program introduces young musicians to the power of classical music Amadeus-style.

The Emerging Artists program, now in its eighth year, provides performance opportunities and funding to talented young musicians.

Music: An Insider’s Guide is a series of informal talks that take you behind the scenes and inside of the music. Audience interaction is encouraged. These talks are presented in local libraries and senior centers. Prep Talks are short presentations immediately preceding our concerts.

And more! Artistic Director A. Scott Wood brings the mission of Amadeus to students, seniors, and others across the region in masterclasses, teacher mentoring, festivals and honors orchestras.
