Life-Long Music Education is integral to the mission of Amadeus Concerts.
The Amadeus Orchestra inspires young musicians through its side-by-side concerts in schools. Each season Amadeus Concerts takes their professional musicians into Fairfax County schools to present a Side-by-Side concert. Students and pros rehearse together, performing for their classmates. This is often accompanied by a concert by the Amadeus Orchestra of its own repertoire. This program has been made possible in part by theĀ ArtsFairfax. Additional fundingĀ comes from private donations through fundraising events including our annual Gala Garden Party and the Benefit Concert & Auction.
We also regularly mentor musicians on the verge of international careers through the Emerging Artist Program, which features these exceptional young musicians on one of our regular concerts. Recent Emerging Artist Program concerts have featured graduate students of the Peabody Conservatory; musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra Young Fellows Program; Washington National Opera Domingo-Cafritz Young Artists; Prizewinners of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association Concerto Competitions; and ensembles in the early stages of their career such as the Calidore String Quartet, and the Daraja Ensemble.
OurĀ talks, which happen both before our regular concerts, during Amadeus special events, and out and about around the community, actively engage music lovers in expanding their understanding of classical music.
